FEW SIDE-WALK PAINTINGS....GUWAHATI ROADS

While passing through this road on my way to Sukreswar Temple i noticed these colorful sidewalk paintings,i couldnot resist myself from capturing them. These paintings depict different regional wears,dances,festivals......on asking a local hawker i was told that these are painted by students of an art school.....how right the information is i have no idea....just enjoyed them.

Hey, they have started doing this, here in Chennai, too! Like yours, these art students are covering Mahabalipuram, temple paintings etc.

Your photographs are beautiful, Kavita. You love you place and it is visible from your posts.

this is wonderful....
in mumbai too on 15aug this year the municipal authorities with an ngo had inititated a similar project called the 'wall project' and a wall along the railway tracks, for about 3kms was painted by the residents of mumbai. had featured it on my blog then. it is a wonderfully colorful and beautiful idea. but the sad thing is maintaining it!
